To create a community of, and for, runners in Lander and the greater Western Wyoming region.

Who We Are.

We are a community of runners located in Lander, Wyoming, at the base of the wild and rugged Wind River Mountains. Some of us are here to meet new running friends, others are looking for encouragement or want to support others, some are here to challenge ourselves in races: what we all have in common is that we love running to help find the best in ourselves. Regardless of why you run, where you run, or how long you have been out there, we are a community of runners that share a love of the sport.  We think that running is unique; you can do it by yourself or with friends; whatever your preference is, we want you to have a resource to ask questions, be connected and encouraged by other runners, explore new trails, have a voice with land managers and make your community a better place.

History.

The Lander Running Club was founded in 2014 by Evan Reimondo and Amber Wilson.  They hosted weekly track workouts, group runs, and were always talking to members about their training plans, upcoming races, and race reports.  They created a strong and supportive running community.  They started the Rough and Tumble Trail Race in 2015.  When they moved away from Lander in 2017, they handed the club off to Gabe and Jenny Joyes and Emily Tilden.  Since then, the trio has continued the trail race and group running events throughout the community.

Where We’re Going.

The Lander Running Club plans to continue hosting the Sinks Canyon Trail Races (formerly known as the Rough & Tumble) each June as well as support other Lander running events to the best of our abilities.  It is our goal to become more involved in trail building and advocate for runners on a variety of routes in-town and on the trails. We are a proud supporter of Wyoming Pathways and encourage you to do the same.

If you would like to be more involved, shoot us an email at landerrunning@gmail.com

Lander Running is fiscally sponsored by the Lander Community Foundation. Donations are used to cover our general operating expenses such as hosting the Sinks Canyon Rough and Tumble Trail Race, social running events throughout the year, and other costs associated with operating the club such as web hosting fees, licensing, and promotional materials.
