Sinks Canyon Trail Races

Experience Wind River Running

The Sinks Canyon Trail Races start and finish in beautiful Sinks Canyon, the corridor to Wyoming’s Wind River Mountains.

You can expect scenery that includes wildflower heaven, snow and ice-covered peaks, deep canyons, enormous views, and fun trails.

These runs are hosted by the Lander Running Club, an inclusive, community-based organization for and by runners. Join us for a fun, and challenging, day of running some of the West’s premier trails.

The 50km race is a legit mountain run. If you like to play hard in the mountains this run is for you! You’ll take a peek into the majesty of the Wind River Mountains.

18k

The 18km race has some hard climbing and some breathtaking views. It is the perfect balance of “sound of music” meadows and amazing forest singletrack.

6k

The 6km race is perfect for those starting out with trail running. The course meanders along the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River with views of fascinating geologic variety.

Wyoming Running Kids’ 1K

This race is for kids 12 and under and is a great way to introduce your kids to trail running. The course is an out and back closely following the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River.

We can always use an extra hand.

  • Shuttle Details

Due to the increased popularity of our races, the Wind River Transportation Authority (WRTA) will provide shuttles for all 18km, 6km and Kid’s 1km racers.

Masks MUST BE WORN on the shuttles regardless of vaccination status.

All 50km racers should park at Bruce’s Parking Lot. We have experienced volunteers who will help us maximize this parking lot for our 50km racers. We encourage carpooling if at all possible! Please enter the parking lot at the second entrance closest to the permanent toilets.

All 18km, 6km and Kid’s K racers are requested to take the shuttle which will load and unload at the Lander Swimming Pool / FCSD#1 Admin Building parking lot located at the corner of South 9th and Sweetwater Street. There will be three 30 passenger busses running continuously from 6:15am until 2pm. It is a 20 minute shuttle to Bruce’s Parking Lot, so make sure to get on a shuttle early enough for your start time!

We will have limited shelter for racers at the Start/Finish Area, so be sure to bring warm layers while you wait for your race start and get warmed up. We would recommend bringing a duffle/backpack to keep items that you don’t want to race with at the Start/Finish area.
